Switzerland is loosing its former snowy glaciers due to climate change, they just held a funeral for Pizol Glacier near St. Gallen

Switzerland has lost yet another glacier. It’s not the first one, but unfortunately not the last… if the world population continues to live, and pollute, the way we used to until now. This past sunday, around 100 environmental activists made a funeral march to the melted Pizol glacier in the canton of St.Gallen, in the northern east of the country. With this effort they want to draw attention to the threat of climate change. Approximately 250 people have climbed to a height of 2,6 km above sea level for a collective mourning, initiated by glaciologist at ETH Zurich, Matthias Huss.

Check out the embeded Twitter postings for onsite impressions of the important happening.
